{"id":170,"date":"2025-10-01T13:00:45","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T11:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/become-a-member\/"},"modified":"2025-12-16T12:34:51","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T11:34:51","slug":"become-a-member","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/en\/become-a-member\/","title":{"rendered":"Become a member"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"303\" src=\"https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/public_lyon4-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/public_lyon4-1.jpeg 1920w, https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/public_lyon4-1-1024x162.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/public_lyon4-1-768x121.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/new.eftacim.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/public_lyon4-1-1536x242.jpeg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Become a member<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can become a member<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All EFTA CIM members<\/strong> have <strong>extensive training in systemic family therapy that they actively use in their profession.<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of registration, <strong>members must be professionally active<\/strong>, which is why we ask that they enclose with their application (see below) a letter of recommendation from a colleague or superior attesting to the systemic work the practitioner does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>depending on the type of work<\/strong> they do and in which they use systemic skills, EFTA CIM recognises <strong>two distinct profiles:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. <strong>Family Therapist<\/strong>: members who mainly carry out clinical work with couples and families;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <strong>Systemic Practitioner<\/strong>: members who carry out predominantly organisational or other counselling work based on the systemic analysis of contexts and relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific admission criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We ask those applying to become EFTA CIM members to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ca Have completed a 4-year training that includes a minimum of 700 hours of training divided as follows and certified by the training institution(s):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>450 hours of clinical training <\/strong>(systemic theory, clinic theory, exercises, role-playing; therapist&#8217;s self work; supervised in vivo clinical practice);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>250 hours of autonomous clinical practice<\/strong> in a professional context or internship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ca Be professionally active in the clinical or counselling context and submit a letter of recommendation attesting to this. <strong>The letter must<\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> be written by a colleague or superior who is not a trainer of the candidate;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> describe the relationship and role of the writer in relation to the candidate;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> describe which tasks he\/she has been able to appreciate the candidate&#8217;s professionalism;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> specify that the work carried out by the candidate is systemic-family related.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of being a Member:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em> <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Continuous training<\/mark><strong> <\/strong><\/em>: high-level professional events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Collaborative space<\/mark><\/em><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>: an international network of professionals for postings and comparisons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Online visibility<\/mark><\/em><strong><em> :<\/em><\/strong> your data published and searchable in the EFTA CIM Member database accessible on the EFTA website<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Economic benefits<\/mark><\/em><strong> :<\/strong> \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>reduced registration fees at EFTA&#8217;s international conferences ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discounted subscription (-33%) at cairn.info for digital access to over 160 leading journals in psychology and mental health (in French).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>33% discount on all books published by Springer ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>  <\/strong><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Updating<\/mark><\/em><strong> :<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>electronic newsletter sent periodically;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>information on the European Certificate of Psychotherapy for which EFTA is the preferred contact for family therapists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to join EFTA CIM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1.<strong> Determine <\/strong>whether you wish to apply for membership as a Family Therapist or as a Systemic Practitioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <strong>Download <\/strong>the corresponding form, which includes the application letter, information sheet and payment information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <strong>Fill in the form<\/strong> in its different parts;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <strong>Collect<\/strong> the necessary certification indicated in each part :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) <strong>ensure<\/strong> that the certification you enclose clearly states the required information (number of hours of clinical training, number of hours of independent practice, etc.) If one or more certificates do not state this information directly, you may supplement them with documents from the institute describing the training programme corresponding to your certificate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) <strong>take care<\/strong> to indicate in each part of the form the name of the file with the corresponding documentation, so that it is easy to check that the criteria have been met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <strong>Attach<\/strong> a detailed <strong>curriculum vitae<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. <strong>Enclose<\/strong> the receipt for payment of the \u20ac38 administration fee (You pay this fee only once. Once your application has been approved and you have been admitted as a member, you will pay the annual membership fee).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. <strong>Send<\/strong> it by email to: <a href=\"mailto:secretariat@eftacim.org\">secretariat@eftacim.org <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. <strong>Wait <\/strong>for the complete application file to be submitted to the accreditation committee, which meets at least twice a year (but more often if necessary). This commission examines the dossier and makes the decision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. <strong>When your application is accepted<\/strong>, you will <strong>pay<\/strong> the annual fee of \u20ac 80 (from 2025) and become a full EFTA-CIM member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. <strong>As membership of the association is confirmed every year<\/strong>, the membership fee must also be paid annually.
